Three cases of posttraumatic splenic laceration in young patients are reported. In each case, hemostasis of the lesion was obtained by the use of microfiber collagen in emergency laparoscopy. In two cases, complete hemostasis was achieved and the entire organ was saved. In the third case, splenectomy proved necessary after renewed bleeding occurred.

Background: 18F-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET is fast becoming the gold-standard in prostate cancer, both in staging of intermediate-/high-risk patients and in re-staging patients with biochemical failure. Several pitfalls of 18F-PSMA PET have been reported, and we report, to our best of knowledge, for the first time, a case which could have been falsely diagnosed as peritoneal spread.
Case Presentation: A 67-year-old patient with high-risk prostate cancer underwent staging with 18F-PSMA-1007 PET/CT (PSMA-PET/CT).

Background: Non-operative management for pediatric blunt splenic injury is well established in high-income countries, leading to a low splenectomy rate in hemodynamically stable children. Splenectomy rate became a quality indicator for Trauma Center verification utilized by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. However, data on splenectomy rate in children from countries with different income levels, such as Brazil, remain limited.

Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) has increasingly replaced surgery for treating solid organ injuries, including the spleen, due to its minimally invasive approach. Studies show only a 3% splenectomy rate after TAE, despite a 10% incidence of missed vascular injuries in the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) grade III splenic injuries on initial computed tomography (CT) scans. However, there's a lack of high-quality studies recommending specific CT follow-up intervals after non-operative management (NOM) of splenic injuries or guidelines for initiating treatment in cases of pseudoaneurysms or arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs).

Background And Aims: Chronic stress associates with cardiovascular disease, but mechanisms remain incompletely defined. Advanced imaging was used to identify stress-related neural imaging phenotypes associated with atherosclerosis.
Methods: Twenty-seven individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 45 trauma-exposed controls without PTSD, and 22 healthy controls underwent 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (18F-FDG PET/MRI).

The knee joint has long been considered a closed system. The pathological effects of joint diseases on distant organs have not been investigated. Herein, our clinical data showed that post-traumatic joint damage, combined with joint bleeding (hemarthrosis), exhibits a worse liver function compared with healthy control.
