Body dimensions, carcass weight, as well as absolute and relative heart weight of 29 Berlin miniature pigs were assessed and statistically evaluated. The correlations between all variables were checked. Significant correlation coefficients were established between absolute heart weight and live or carcass weight as well as between live and carcass weight. The trend towards a relationship between absolute heart and live weight is given by the major axis function. The mean value of relative heart weight was 0.314 per cent. The results are discussed.

Background: Accurate assessment of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk is crucial for effective prevention and resource allocation. However, few CVD risk estimation tools consider social determinants of health (SDoH), despite their known impact on CVD risk. We aimed to estimate 10-year CVD risk in the Eastern Caribbean Health Outcomes Research Network Cohort Study (ECS) across multiple risk estimation instruments and assess the association between SDoH and CVD risk.

Data regarding Penicillin allergy labels (PALs) from India and Sri Lanka are sparse. Emerging data suggests that the proportion of patients declaring an unverified PAL in secondary care in India and Sri Lanka (1%-4%) is lesser than that reported in High Income Countries (15%-20%). However, even this relatively small percentage translates into a large absolute number, as this part of the world accounts for approximately 25% of the global population.

Background: Sport practice may elevate the risk of cardiovascular events, including sudden cardiac death, in athletes with undiagnosed heart conditions. In Italy, pre-participation screening includes a resting ECG and either the Harvard Step Test (HST) or maximal exercise testing (MET), but the relative efficacy of the latter two tests for detecting arrhythmias and heart conditions remains unclear.

Methods: This study examined 511 paediatric athletes (8-18 years, 76.
