Analogs of bridging-oxo complexes of dimolybdenum(V) where sulfide replaces one or both bridges are known. After reduction of [(MoO3)2(mu-edta)]4- (edta is ethylenediaminetetraacetate) with dithionite at pH 6 in the absence of dioxygen, slow replacement of bridging oxide with sulfide produced in situ produces the title compound, disodium mu-(ethylenediaminetetraacetato)-mu-oxo-mu-sulfido-bis[oxomolyb denum(V)] dihydrate, Na2-[Mo2O3S(C10H12N2O8)].2H2O. IR and NMR spectroscopic analyses are consistent with an unsymmetrical complex. In the molecular structure, the Mo centers have distorted octahedral coordination, with an average Mo-S distance of 2.320 (1) A and an average bridging Mo-O distance of 1.938 (3) A. The Mo...Mo contact distance [2.666 (1) A] is intermediate between those in comparable di-mu-oxo and di-mu-sulfido complexes. The two Na+ ions have five and six nearest O atoms in their coordination spheres, which each include one disordered water oxygen.

The formation of the symmetrical μ-carbonate-bridged self-assembled trinuclear Ni complex Na{[Ni(LO)(HO)](μ-CO)} (LO is the carboxylate anion of a L-tyrosine derivative), involves atmospheric CO uptake. The asymmetric unit of the complex comprises an octahedral coordination for the Ni with two L-tyrosine-based ligands, a water molecule and one O atom of the carbonate bridge. The Ni-μ-CO core in this compound is the first reported of this kind according to the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD).

Today we know that NO· and ONOO- are clue pathophysiological factors for progression some ischemic diseases of the central nervous system. So investigation of the antioxidants which will be able to decrease NO· and ONOO- toxicity seems to be very of current interest. The six esters and three amides of 2-(3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-2H-[1,2,4]triazino[4,3-c]quinazolin-4-yl)acetic acid were synthesized for this study, and we showed evidence of antioxidant activity of these new original derivatives.

Background: Copper has shown to be useful in disorders with an inflammation origin such as cancer [1-3]. It has previously shown that Casiopeínas® interact with DNA and promote the disruption by a mechanism related to the increase in the level of free radicals [4-6] which confers antineoplastic potential. Objetive: The aim of the present work was to study the antitumor effects of a series of Cu(II) complexes with saccharinate (sac) and glutamate (gln): [Cu(sac)2(H2O)4].
