The correct function of the upper limb depends on the cooperation and coordination of the muscular and skeletal systems as well as the connective tissue elements present in it. Connective tissue forms fascia, connective tissue membranes and ligaments. Connective tissue mostly develops from the mesenchyme.

Early-life malnutrition adversely affects nearly all organ systems, resulting in multiple physiological adaptations, including growth restriction and muscle and bone loss. Although there is growing evidence that probiotics effectively improve systemic growth under malnourished conditions in different animal models, our knowledge of the beneficial effects of probiotics on various organs is limited. Here, we show that Lactobacillus plantarum strain WJL (LpWJL) can mitigate skeletal muscle and bone loss in protein-malnourished juvenile mice.

Background: Reducing inequalities in women's nutrition and health care can accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goals for maternal and child health. Nutrition interventions for women are delivered through maternal health services such as antenatal care and institutional deliveries, but whether they reach and protect the disadvantaged against malnutrition is not well documented.
Objective: To assess the similarities in socioeconomic disparities and inequalities in the nutritional status and health care of women.

Background: Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), or withdrawal from prenatal opioid exposure at birth, can trigger a referral to child protective services (CPS). Background: Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is a severe condition in which the fetus fails to reach its genetically predetermined growth potential, impairing prenatal development and predisposing individuals to postnatal consequences that may persist into adulthood. Although fetal mechanisms such as the brain-sparing effect have been proposed to protect the brain against IUGR-related deficits, the extent of this protection remains unclear.
Objective: To conduct a systematic review that demonstrates prenatal morphofunctional abnormalities in the brain of individuals with IUGR.
