The study of intrarenal and upper urinary tracts urodynamics in the presence of the ureteropelvic obstruction and of the function of the lower urinary tract shows that congenital hydronephrosis was in 42.8% of cases associated with bladder dysfunction presenting with hyperreflex-type dysfunction. Maladapted hyperreflex bladder was diagnosed in 29.4%, adapted--in 13.5% of cases. The hyporeflex dysfunction occurred in 15.9% of cases. The urinary bladder dysfunction in children with congenital hydronephrosis accounts for 58.7%. These aggravate the same defects of the upper urinary tracts and deteriorate the course of chronic obstructive pyelonephritis.

The 5th Edition of the "WHO Classification of Tumours: Urinary and Male Genital Tumours" introduces several significant updates to the classification of testicular tumours. These updates include revised terminology for special germ cell tumour subtypes (neuroectodermal and neuroendocrine tumours) of the testis. Klebsiella pneumoniae sequence type 258 (ST258) is the main cause of the global spread of KPC and a significant public health problem. In 2015, ceftazidime/avibactam (CZA) was introduced as a therapeutic alternative and since it has contributed to the development of new KPC variants. Here we present the identification of two consecutive isolations of K.

Sodium reabsorption is tightly coupled to calcium reabsorption in the proximal tubule via the action of the Na/H exchanger isoform 3 (NHE3). Poulsen et al. provide evidence of reduced proximal calcium reabsorption in kidney tubule-specific NHE3-deficient mice that is compensated distally, unaltered phosphate homeostasis, and NHE3 involvement in the hypocalciuric effect of thiazides.

The gram-negative, facultative anaerobic bacterium Morganella morganii is linked to a number of illnesses, including nosocomial infections and urinary tract infections (UTIs). A clinical isolate from a UTI patient in Bangladesh was subjected to high-throughput whole genome sequencing and extensive bioinformatics analysis in order to gather knowledge about the genomic basis of bacterial defenses and pathogenicity in M. morganii.
