Many fundamental and hot band absorption lines of 28Si35Cl+, 28Si37Cl+, 29Si35Cl+, and 30Si35Cl+ have been detectedbetween 630 and 700 cm-1 in a SiCl4/He discharge using diode laser velocity modulation spectroscopy. The datahave been fitted to give seven mass independent coefficients Ukl. The derived spectroscopic constants for 28Si35Cl+ include omegae = 678.24316(18) cm-1 and Be = 0.2870288(14) cm-1. The equilibrium internuclear distance is re =1.9439105(46) Å. The equilibrium dissociation energy calculated from Dunham's expanded Morse potential is De =49 431(57) cm-1. To measure the influence of ganglion cell layer (GCL) thickness on the changes in size and red blood cell (RBC) flow in small retinal vessels evoked by full-field flicker. We used a dual-beam adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope to image 11 healthy young controls in two retinal areas with significantly different GCL thicknesses. All capillaries and arterioles of the superficial vascular plexus were responsive to the flicker stimulation.

The rotation of the YIG sphere triggers the Barnett effect in the magnon mode and the Sagnac effect in the optical modes. The directional input of a pump light leads to opposite Sagnac-Fizeau frequency shifts in these modes.

Rate coefficients for ion-polar-molecule reactions between acetonitrile molecules (CHCN) and nitrogen molecular ions (N), which are of importance to the upper atmospheric chemistry of Saturn's moon Titan, were measured for the first time at low translational temperatures. In the experiments, the reaction between sympathetically cooled N ions embedded in laser-cooled Ca Coulomb crystals and velocity-selected acetonitrile molecules generated using a wavy Stark velocity filter was studied to determine the reaction rate coefficients. Capture rate coefficients calculated by the Su-Chesnavich approach and by the perturbed rotational state theory considering the rotational state distribution of CHCN were compared to the experimental rate coefficients.

In this study, we report, for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, on in-volume glass modifications produced by GHz bursts of femtosecond pulses. We compare three distinct methods of energy deposition in glass, i.e.

Background: Several epidemiological studies and intervention trials have demonstrated that grapes and blueberries, which are rich in flavanols, can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. However, the mechanisms of action of these compounds remain unclear due to their low bioavailability.
Objective: This study aimed to characterize the sensory properties, blood flow velocity, and oxidative stress of a polyphenol rich grape and blueberry extract (PEGB) containing approximately 16% flavanols (11% monomers and 4% dimers).
