Distribution of BCR::ABL1 transcript types and response to therapy in pediatric patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.

J Mol Diagn

January 2025

Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, University Hospital Erlangen, Erlangen, Germany; Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen-EMN (CCC ER-EMN), Erlangen, Germany; Bavarian Cancer Research Center (BZKF), Erlangen, Germany. Electronic address:

Achieving a stable deep molecular response with the option to discontinue tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) treatment is the new therapeutic goal for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Several studies have shown that individuals expressing the BCR::ABL1 e14a2 transcript achieve a major molecular response more rapidly than those with the e13a2 transcript. However, technical issues may have confounded these observations, and data for pediatric patients are limited.

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Chemical Biology and Traditional Chinese Medicine Research (Ministry of Education of China), College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan Normal University, Changsha, 410081, PR China. Electronic address:

E-selectin (CD62E) is an adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of endothelial cells (ECs) and its level increases significantly upon the stimulation of ECs by inflammatory factors. Quantitative analysis of CD62E is of great importance to early diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases and hypertension. A new method for the determination of CD62E was developed using a portable pH meter in this work.

Rhoifolin Suppresses Cell Proliferation and Induces Apoptosis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells In Vitro and In Vivo.

Pharmaceuticals (Basel)

January 2025

Innovation Center of Molecular Diagnostics, College of Life Science and Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing 100029, China.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most prevalent malignant tumor, ranking fifth in terms of fatality with poor prognosis and a low survival rate. Rhoifolin (ROF), a flavonoid constituent, has previously been shown to suppress the proliferation of breast and pancreatic cancer cells. However, its inhibitory effect on HCC has remained unexplored.

The study aims to investigate an improved version of lipid nanocarriers (NLCs) (formulated with functional coconut butter and marula oil) by designing hyaluronic acid (HA) decorated NLC co-loaded with dual UVA (butyl methoxy dibenzoyl methane, BMDBM), UVB absorbers (ethyl-hexyl-salicylate, EHS) and a Raspberry rich polyphenols fraction (RPRF) for development of more natural NLC-based to-pical formulations. : Quality and quantitative attributes of classic- and HA-NLC have been assigned based on particle size, electrokinetic potential, encapsulation efficiency, spectroscopic characteristics, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. To establish the performance profile of antioxidant activity, release of active substances, sun blocking action, and photostability, in vitro studies were conducted.

Relationships Between and the Rest of the World-Analysis of Dual-Species Biofilms and Infections.

Pathogens

January 2025

Department of Biomedicine and Environmental Research, Faculty of Medicine, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Konstantynów 1j, 20-708 Lublin, Poland.

In this study, we investigated the interactions between and , , , and in mixed infections. Initially, these interactions were studied qualitatively and quantitatively in dual-species biofilms formed in vitro. The MTT assays, determination of the total CFU/mL, and SEM analysis showed that interacted differentially with the other spp.
