The clinical features and cytogenetic results of an 18 year old mentally handicapped female found to be a mosaic for a tandem duplication of chromosome 1 (46,XX,dup(1)(q12q22)/46,XX) are reported. The case is compared with the three previously described cases and possible mechanisms for the origin of the duplication are discussed. This patient was not found to have features of Proteus syndrome which was previously reported in a subject mosaic for a tandem duplication involving chromosome (1)(q11q25).

Chinese chestnut ( Blume) is an important economic forest tree species and mainly cultivated in mountainous areas and wastelands, subjecting it to various abiotic stresses. The protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C) genes contributes largely to stress responses in plants. However, the characteristics and functions of genes in remain unknown.

Roses () are among the most cherished ornamental plants globally, yet they are highly susceptible to infections by , the causative agent of gray mold disease. Here we inoculated the resistant rose variety 'Yellow Leisure Liness' with to investigate its resistance mechanisms against gray mold disease. Through transcriptome sequencing, we identified 578 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) that were significantly upregulated at 24, 48, and 72 hours post-inoculation, with these genes significantly enriched for three defense response-related GO terms.

Chitinases are enzymes that hydrolyze β-1,4-glycosidic bonds in chitin. Previous studies have shown that several chitinases accumulated significantly in A. mongolicus, suggesting that chitinases might participate in the adaptation to winter climate in Ammopiptanthus mongolicus.

In eukaryotes, chromatin is compacted within nuclei under the principle of compartmentalization. On top of that, condensin II establishes eukaryotic chromosome territories, while cohesin organizes the vertebrate genome by extruding chromatin loops and forming topologically associating domains (TADs). Thus far, the formation and roles of these chromatin structures in plants remain poorly understood.

Canine mast cell tumors (MCTs) are common skin neoplasms with varying biological behaviors. The proto-oncogene plays a key role in the development of these tumors, and internal tandem duplications on exon 11 are usually associated with more aggressive behavior, increased local recurrence, and decreased survival time. However, apart from exons 8-11 and 17, there is limited understanding of the overall mutational landscape in canine MCTs.
