In this study, a novel rapid immunochromatographic (IC) test for African swine fever virus (ASFV) antibodies is presented. An immunochromatographic test (IC) is a detection technique that combines membrane chromatography with immunolabeling. This approach saves time for antibody preparation, resulting in a shorter production cycle.

encodes three regulatory subunits of class IA phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), each associating with any of three catalytic subunits, namely p110α, p110β, or p110δ. Constitutional mutations cause diseases with a genotype-phenotype relationship not yet fully explained: heterozygous loss-of-function mutations cause SHORT syndrome, featuring insulin resistance and short stature attributed to reduced p110α function, while heterozygous activating mutations cause immunodeficiency, attributed to p110δ activation and known as APDS2. Surprisingly, APDS2 patients do not show features of p110α hyperactivation, but do commonly have SHORT syndrome-like features, suggesting p110α hypofunction.

Unlabelled: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a globally prevalent zoonotic pathogen that is primarily spread through the fecal-oral route, such as by consuming undercooked or contaminated pork. HEV infection leads to an estimated 3.3 million symptomatic cases of viral hepatitis and 70,000 deaths in human populations each year.

Pediatrics Department, Xiantao Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, Xiantao, China.
Background: The primary purpose of this study was to detect the pathogen species using targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) to investigate the characteristics of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)-related pathogens in children in Xiantao city, Hubei province, China.
Methods: A total of 1,527 children with CAP were prospectively recruited from our hospital between May 2022 and February 2023. Information on age and sex was collected from the medical records.

Background: Concentric vessel-wall contrast enhancement (VW-CE) of the terminal carotid artery and its proximal branches may be linked to ischemic strokes, disease activity and progression in Moyamoya disease (MMD). The objective of this retrospective cohort study is to analyze the association between VW-CE and perioperative acute ischemic stroke (PAIS) occurring within 24 h after revascularization.
Methods: All previously untreated MMD patients who required revascularization and who had undergone preoperative MRI with VW-CE-sequences were included.
