Integrating proteomics and metabolomics to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of pimpled egg production in chickens: Multi-omics analysis of the mechanism of pimpled egg formation.

January 2025

Shandong Provincial Key laboratory for Livestock Germplasm Innovation & Utilization, College of Animal Science and Technology, Shandong Agricultural University, 61 Daizong Street, Taian City, Shandong Province 271018, PR China. Electronic address:

Eggshells not only protect the contents of the egg from external damage but are also a key factor influencing consumer choice, second only to price. In the later stages of egg production, the incidence of pimpled eggs significantly increases, severely affecting the hatchability and food safety of the eggs. This study compares the differences in the uterine proteomes and metabolomes of hens producing pimpled eggs and those producing normal eggs, aiming to identify the proteins and metabolites that may play a crucial role in the formation of pimpled eggs.

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous hematological malignancy caused by disorders in stem cell differentiation and excessive proliferation resulting in clonal expansion of dysfunctional cells called myeloid blasts. The combination of chemotherapeutic agents with natural product-based molecules is promising in the treatment of AML. In this study, we aim to investigate the anti-cancer effect of Rapamycin and Niacin combination on THP-1 and NB4 AML cell lines.

Unlabelled: In the early stages of development, correlated activity known as retinal waves causes periodic depolarizations of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). The β2KO mouse, which lacks the β2 subunit of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, serves as a model for understanding the role of these cholinergic waves. β2KO mice have disruptions in several developmental processes of the visual system, including reduced retinotopic and eye-specific refinement of RGC axonal projections to their primary brain targets and an impact on the retinal circuits underlying direction selectivity.
