The results of the study of the influence of lysozyme on fertile characteristics of ejaculate obtained from sterile patients are presented. Improvement of functional activity of spermatozoa in vitro due to lysozyme has been determined. The method of the treatment of infertile couples by homologous insemination is proposed.

Steamed egg (SE), a traditional egg dish, exhibits steaming time-dependent textural properties. This study investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying SE gel formation and deterioration through quantitative proteomics combined with physicochemical characterization. Results showed optimal gel formation at 11 min steaming, while prolonged steaming (23 min) led to gel cracking and sensory deterioration.

Macromolecule bactericides present challenges such as low biocompatibility and not being biodegradable, so broad-spectrum bactericides without accumulated bacteria resistance are now in urgent demand all over the world. Lysozyme, a kind of wide-spread natural enzyme easily extracted from nature, has become attractive for agriculture and medicine use. However, Gram-negative bacterial strains are highly resistant to natural lysozymes, which limits their practical application.

Due to its lack of the L-gulonolactone oxidase () enzyme, Nile tilapia is unable to synthesize vitamin C; thus, it requires an adequate level of exogenous vitamin C in its diet. To enhance antioxidant properties and vitamin C-related effects, we employed recombinant technology to integrate the -encoding gene into the chromosome. In this study, fish were divided into four groups: those fed with a basal diet (CON), a basal diet + vitamin C (VC), a basal diet + wild-type (BS), and a basal diet + recombinant (BS+GULO).

In recent years, the consumption of liquid eggs has failed to meet the expectations of the public due to growing concerns regarding food safety and health. It is well known that there are interactions between the components in liquid eggs, and the interaction effect on the structure and functional properties of the proteins and antigenicity remains unclear. To investigate egg component interactions, we focused on four major egg lipids, namely phosphatidylcholine, palmitic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid, as well as four major egg proteins, including ovalbumin, ovotransferrin, ovomucoid, and lysozyme.

Background: It is important to promote intestinal development and maturation of chicks for feed digestion and utilization, intestinal health, and disease resistance. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary yeast cell wall polysaccharides (YCWP) addition on intestinal development and maturation of chickens and its potential action mechanism.
Methods: 180 one-day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly assigned to three groups containing control (basal diets without any antibiotics or anticoccidial drug), bacitracin methylene disalicylate (BMD)-treated group (50 mg/kg) and YCWP-supplemented group (100 mg/kg).
