We report 6 patients (1 male and 5 females; age range, 13-77 years) with hand sarcoma. The lesions were located between the digits and the distal end of the radius. A painless mass was the common manifestation in these patients. An incisional biopsy was performed on every patient, and histology revealed two low-grade malignant sarcomas and four high-grade malignancies. A surgical salvage procedure was performed. The 4 patients with high-grade malignancy underwent adjuvant therapy such as radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. Four patients are still alive and exhibit acceptable function in the affected hand. Our surgical procedure is presented.

Purpose: The randomized phase II GORTEC 2014-04 and French Head and Neck Intergroup study showed deeper deterioration of the quality of life (HRQoL) and dramatically higher severe toxicity rates with similar overall survival rates using chemo-SABR compared to SABR alone in oligometastatic head and neck cancer (HNSCC) patients. We evaluated the costs associated with SABR-alone versus chemo-SABR and their associated costs (transportation, hospitalizations, etc).
Materials And Methods: 69 HNSCC patients with 1-3 oligometastases and a controlled primary were randomized from September 2015 to October 2022.

Background In 2024, reimbursement for gemcitabine-docetaxel therapy (GEM-DOC; gemcitabine 900 mg/m on days 1 and 8 and docetaxel 70 mg/m on day 8 every 21 days, GEM 900-DOC 70) to treat recurrent/metastatic soft tissue sarcoma (STS) was made in Japan. Methods We retrospectively reviewed clinical records of advanced/metastatic STS patients who underwent off-label gemcitabine-containing chemotherapy at the Cancer Institute Hospital of the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research between February 2007 and October 2019. Results Of 115 enrolled patients, 51 were treated with GEM-DOC (26 patients received the dose as previously stated) and the other 64 with gemcitabine monotherapy.
