Background And Objectives: Although multiple sclerosis (MS) can be conceptualized as a network disorder, brain network analyses typically require advanced MRI sequences not commonly acquired in clinical practice. Using conventional MRI, we assessed cross-sectional and longitudinal structural disconnection and morphometric similarity networks in people with MS (pwMS), along with their relationship with clinical disability.
Methods: In this longitudinal monocentric study, 3T structural MRI of pwMS and healthy controls (HC) was retrospectively analyzed.
Background: In developing countries, rheumatic mitral valve stenosis (MS) is still a problem and its progression leads to left atrial (LA) damage. Due to the complexity of the LA geometry, currently used techniques like antero-posterior dimension (LAD) and 2D echo derived LA volume (LAV) have several limitations that are corrected by 3D derived LA volumes in addition to functional evaluation.
Purpose: To assess the LA functions using 2D speckle tracking echocardiography and 3D transthoracic echocardiography in patients with clinically significant MS in comparison to normal healthy subjects.

Background: Similar to T1 colon cancer (CC), risk stratification may guide T2 CC treatment and reduce unnecessary major surgery. In this study, prediction models were developed that could identify T2 CC patients with a lower risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) for whom (intensive) follow-up after local treatment could be considered.
Methods: A nationwide cohort study was performed involving pT2 CC patients who underwent surgery between 2012 and 2020, using data from the Dutch ColoRectal Audit, which were linked to the Nationwide Pathology Databank.

This study aimed to evaluate the hemodynamic and ventricular performance of neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) undergoing therapeutic hypothermia using conventional and advanced echocardiographic techniques. This observational, prospective study included 22 neonates with HIE matched with 22 healthy neonates. Echocardiographic studies were performed 24 h after achieving target temperature during hypothermia and 24 h after rewarming.

Unraveling the numerous factors that drive phenotypic variation in trait expression among animals has long presented a significant challenge. Whereas traits like growth and adult size are often heritable and are passed on from one generation to the next, these can be significantly affected by the quality and quantity of resources provided by one or both parents to their offspring. In many vertebrates, such as birds and mammals, parents raise their young until adult, providing food, shelter, and protection.
