The "Personal Immunization Card" is entering more and more in practice, even though its existence is not yet acknowledged. One of his advantages is to consider the travel medicine counsellor on one hand and the travelling adult on the other hand, being able to take a licit decision in account to informative data. That means to give the two actors-guarantors of the compliance--the responsibility in Public Health, in a domain considered until now in the same way as that of vaccinations in Infancy. The obligations and recommendations may not be sufficient, it is necessary to be convincing at the adult age. Without a doubt, we should get ride of the a priori with the progress in biology. We shall update our behaviour.

Diverse autoinhibitory mechanisms of FIIND-containing proteins: Insight into regulation of NLRP1 and CARD8 inflammasome.

PLoS Pathog

January 2025

Institute of Pediatric Infection, Immunity, and Critical Care Medicine, Shanghai Children's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China.

Function-to-find domain (FIIND)-containing proteins, including NLRP1 and CARD8, are vital components of the inflammasome signaling pathway, critical for the innate immune response. These proteins exist in various forms due to autoproteolysis within the FIIND domain, resulting in full-length (FL), cleaved N-terminal (NT), and cleaved C-terminal (CT) peptides, which form autoinhibitory complexes in the steady state. However, the detailed mechanism remains elusive.

NOD-like receptor family CARD domain-containing 5 (NLRC5) is a major transcriptional coactivator of MHC class I genes. NLRC5 is the largest member of the NLR family and contains three domains: an untypical caspase recruitment domain (uCARD), a central nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain (NOD or NACHT), and a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain. The functional variability of NLRC5 has been attributed to its different domain interactions with specific ligands in different cell types.

Background: People with diabetes are at increased risk of hospitalisation, morbidity, and mortality following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Long-term outcomes for people with diabetes previously hospitalised with COVID-19 are, however, unknown. This study aimed to determine the longer-term physical and mental health effects of COVID-19 in people with and without diabetes.

Kidney diseases represent a significant global public health challenge, characterized by complex pathogenesis, high incidence, low awareness, insufficient early screening, and substantial treatment disparities. Effective therapeutic options remain lacking. Programmed cell death (PCD), including apoptosis, pyroptosis, and necroptosis, play pivotal roles in the pathogenesis of various kidney diseases.

Silibinin alleviates house dust mite induced allergic airway inflammation by inhibiting NLRC4 inflammasome and MMP-9 expression.

Biomed Pharmacother

January 2025

College of Veterinary Medicine and BK21 FOUR Program, Chonnam National University, 77 Yong-bong-ro, Buk-gu, Gwangju 61186, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Silibinin, a major compound of silymarin, has been reported to alleviate respiratory diseases including acute lung injury, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pulmonary fibrosis through its antifibrotic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. However, the specific mechanisms underlying its therapeutic effects, particularly in allergic asthma, are not fully understood. With the increasing prevalence and impact of allergic asthma, there is a need to elucidate the exact underlying mechanisms of its potential treatment effects.
