Background: With improved outcomes in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) due to the use of anti-retroviral therapy, ensuring adequate preventative healthcare and management of HIV-related comorbidities is essential.
Aims: To evaluate adherence with recommended guidelines for comorbidity and immunisation status screening amongst people living with HIV within a hospital-based setting across two timepoints.
Methods: A single-centre retrospective case series was conducted at a hospital between 2011 and 2021.

Sex differences in mental health may exist among athletes during the COVID-19 crisis. This study aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine sex differences in mental health symptoms among elite athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives: This study evaluates the prevalence and correlates of opioid agonist therapy (OAT) discontinuation across British Columbia (BC), using a sample of individuals who used substances and accessed harm reduction sites.
Design: This study uses data from the 2019 cross-sectional Harm Reduction Client Survey (HRCS).
Setting: The 2019 survey was administered from October to December at 22 harm reduction supply distribution sites across the 5 Regional Health Authorities of BC.

Masked cryptic kidney injury (MCKI), an early stage of acute kidney injury (AKI), is challenging to detect and diagnose, especially in the modern context where toxic substances, such as surfactants, are increasingly misused. Consequently, there is an urgent need for methods for the visual diagnosis of MCKI. In this study, we synthesized environmentally friendly spirulina-derived carbon dots (SpiCDs) using spirulina as a biobased raw material through a simple hydrothermal process.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a medical condition where an individual compulsively misuses drugs or alcohol despite knowing the negative consequences. The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) has been implicated in various types of SUDs, including nicotine, heroin, and alcohol use disorders. Our research aimed to investigate the effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in the ACC as a potential therapeutic approach for morphine use disorder.
