[Large-scale DNA fragmentation during apoptosis: is genome cleaved at boundaries of the topological domain?].

Published data demonstrating DNA cleavage to large fragments (tens kb) at the initial stages of apoptosis are critically reviewed. The presented data suggest specific pattern of such cleavage reflecting the general principle of eukaryotic genome arrangement in functional domains.
