Background: Studies suggest a potential link between stroke and Alzheimer's disease wherein stroke may serve as a trigger for the onset or acceleration of Alzheimer's pathogenesis as damage to the brain's blood vessels may lead to the accumulation of amyloid beta protein which is a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease. Recent research has shown that stroke treatment may hold the key to treating Alzheimer's disease. The anti-inflammatory potentials of Cholinergic signaling are a novel therapeutic target in memory decline associated with Alzheimer's.

Expressed CHRFAM7A, a human restricted gene with carrier frequency of 75% in the human population predicts profound translational significance.
Method: The physiological role of CHRFAM7A in human brain is explored using multiomics approach on 600 post mortem human brain tissue samples (ROSMAP).

Availability of fresh water for domestic, industrial, and agricultural use has become a huge challenge in different parts of the world due to continuous contamination. The leaching of different pesticides in agricultural lands is one of the major sources of water contamination that needs to be monitored and countered. The current study was designed to synthesize specific material for the removal of pesticides from aqueous medium.

Nicotinic α7 receptors (α7 nAChRs) present in perisynaptic Schwann cells (PSCs) control acetylcholine (ACh) spillover from the neuromuscular synapse by transiently increasing intracellular Ca, which fosters adenosine release via type 1 equilibrative nucleoside transporters (ENT1) and retrograde activation of presynaptic A inhibitory receptors. The putative Ca-dependent pathways downstream α7 nAChRs involved in the sensing inhibitory drive operated by PSCs is unknown. Herein, we used phrenic nerve-hemidiaphragm preparations from Wistar rats.
