Functional cardiovascular disturbances are very often in daily practice. Making of the diagnosis is possible by the exclusion of organic heart diseases, the behaviour and the special personal structure of the patient. Functional cardiovascular disturbances may manifest themselves as disturbances of the cardiac rhythm, circulatory dysregulations and so-called heart-aches, in which cases most different variations are possible. They coincide isolately, but also additionally with organic heart diseases, which emphasizes the necessity of thorough examinations. In detail the author enters into heart-ache and its differentiation in concomitant unspecific changes of the final part in the ECG.

Forage crop rotations including grasslands, common in dairy systems, are known to ensure good productivity and limit the decrease of soil organic matter frequently observed in permanent arable land. A dataset was built to compile data from the Kerbernez long-term experiment, conducted in Brittany(France) from 1978 to 2005. This experiment compared the effect of different forage crop rotations fertilized with ammonium nitrate and/or slurry, with or without grassland, on forage production (quantity, quality) and changes in soil physio-chemical characteristics.

Background: Cardiac aging is associated with myocardial remodeling and reduced angiogenesis. Counteracting these changes with natural products is a preventive strategy with great potential. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of fruit juice (AMJ) supplementation on age-related myocardial remodeling in aged rat hearts.

Particulate matter (PM) is a major component of ambient air pollution. PM exposure is linked to numerous adverse health effects, including chronic lung diseases. Air quality guidelines designed to regulate levels of ambient PM are currently based on the mass concentration of different particle sizes, independent of their origin and chemical composition.

The functionality of redox metabolism is frequently named as an important contributor to the processes of aging and anti-aging. Excessive activation of free radical reactions accompanied by the inability of the antioxidant defense (AOD) mechanisms to control the flow of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) leads to the persistence of oxidative stress, hypoxia, impaired mitochondrial energy function and reduced ATP potential. From a long-term perspective, such changes contribute to the development of chronic diseases and facilitate aging.

Organic photodetectors (OPDs) are key devices for monitoring vital signs, such as heart rate and blood oxygen level. For realizing the long-term measurement of biosignals, stable operation is essential. To improve the stability of OPDs, it is important to analyze each layer to understand the degradation mechanism.
