Background: Awake bruxism involves masticatory muscle activity during wakefulness, potentially leading to clinical concerns. Accurate electromyography (EMG) assessment is challenging with brief durations.
Objective: To establish a reliable, short-term measure for nonfunctional masseter muscle activity during wakefulness.

The forearm muscles coordinately control wrist motion, and their activity is affected by forearm rotation. Although forearm rotation has been implicated in the development of lateral and medial epicondylitis, its biomechanical background remains unknown. Therefore, the present study investigated the activity of wrist muscles in various forearm positions.

The use of exoskeletons is increasingly considered as a solution to reduce workers' exposure to physical risk factors, such as low-back disorders. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the CORFOR occupational soft-back exoskeleton on trunk muscle activity and kinematics during an order picking manual task performed in the field. 10 workers, with at least 4 weeks' experience using the exoskeleton, performed a 1.

The accurate, repeatable, and cost-effective quantitative characterization of mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBIs) is crucial for safeguarding the long-term health and performance of high-risk groups, including athletes, emergency responders, and military personnel. However, gaps remain in optimizing mTBI assessment methods, especially regarding the integration of neuromechanical metrics such as reaction time (RT) in predictive models. This review synthesizes existing research on the use of neuromechanical probabilistic models as tools for assessing mTBI, with an emphasis on RT's role in predictive diagnostics.

Non-specific low back pain (NSLBP) is a common musculoskeletal issue that can limit function and reduce the patient's quality of life. Enhancing spinal stabilizer muscle activity through targeted exercises may help improve spinal alignment and alleviate NSLBP symptoms. This study aimed to investigate whether incorporating the abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) into selected low back exercises influences the electromyographic (EMG) activity of key spinal extensor muscles.
