Spatial contrast sensitivity was measured in kittens aged 6, 9, and 12 months and in adult cats. Cats had to open one of two small windows, which had a photograph of a grid, in order to obtain food reinforcement. The nonreinforced stimulus was a photograph of a uniform field of the same mean luminance. Visual acuity was constant in kittens aged 6 to 12 months. However, six-month-old kittens had low contrast sensitivity at low spatial frequencies (< 0.6 cycles/degree). At the age of nine months, contrast sensitivity over this range increased, though the level seen in adult cats was reached only at the age of 12 months. It is suggested that the increase in contrast sensitivity occurring after the critical developmental period in kittens reflects maturation of higher-order cortical fields involved in the process of recognition.

Objective: This single-centre retrospective study aims to determine the incidence of therapy-induced surgical benefit in patients with non-metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) treated with neoadjuvant tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) and evaluate whether this can be predicted by radiological response criteria.
Methods: Thirty-nine non-metastatic GIST patients were treated with neoadjuvant TKI treatment, followed by curative-intended surgery, and monitored using contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT). Surgical benefit was independently assessed by two surgical oncologists and was defined by de-escalation of surgical strategy or reduced surgical complexity.

In this study, the specific capacitance characteristics of a carbon nanotube (CNT) supercapacitor was predicted using different machine learning algorithms, such as artificial neural network (ANN), random forest regression (RFR), -nearest neighbors regression (KNN), and decision tree regression (DTR), based on experimental studies. The results of the simulation verified the accuracy of the ANN algorithm with respect to the data derived from the specific capacitance of the supercapacitor module. It was observed that there was a strong correlation between the experimental results and the predictions made by the ANN algorithm.

This review serves as an overview of chemical exchange saturation transfer magnetic resonance imaging with detailed information on contrast mechanisms and processing methods and summarizes recent developments in both clinical and preclinical studies of chemical exchange saturation transfer magnetic resonance imaging for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and Huntington's disease.
