A 25-year-old female patient was initially diagnosed with pyelonephritis but later discovered to have a large right adnexal mass suspected to be a tubo-ovarian abscess.

This study aimed to evaluate the hemodynamic and ventricular performance of neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) undergoing therapeutic hypothermia using conventional and advanced echocardiographic techniques. This observational, prospective study included 22 neonates with HIE matched with 22 healthy neonates. Echocardiographic studies were performed 24 h after achieving target temperature during hypothermia and 24 h after rewarming.

This review summarizes current understanding about T-POCUS in dogs and cats with respiratory illnesses, including normal thoracic ultrasonography appearance and numerous pathological situations. The basics of T-POCUS are covered, including equipment, scanning procedures, and picture settings.

Torsion of extralobar pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital anomalous condition that can manifest with various symptoms, including abdominal pain. However, a masslike lesion in the mediastinum can be easily overlooked when the clinician focuses only on abdominal pain. By using magnetic resonance imaging, a few features specific to the torsion of extralobar pulmonary sequestration can be identified, and that information will be helpful.

Bronchial atresia (BA) and azygos lobe (AL) are rare congenital pulmonary abnormalities in pediatric patients. We herein report an infantile case of BA combined with AL that was treated with thoracoscopic surgery. The patient was an 8-month-old boy who was preoperatively diagnosed with BA of the right upper lobe (RUL) combined with an AL using fetal magnetic resonance imaging and postnatal enhanced computed tomography.
