A cross-sectional observational study was conducted to describe the unique clinico-microbiologic profile of DFU in those wearing occupational-footwear (OF) and find risk factors for DFU related osteomyelitis in them.

A 76-year-old man with a past occupational history as a firefighter and construction worker presented at an urgent care center with signs and symptoms of chronic dry cough, exertional dyspnea, and fatigue. His initial chest X-ray showed interstitial thickening in the middle and lower lobes with pulmonary infiltrates bilaterally. The patient was treated with an outpatient course of antibiotics.

Background: To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis assessing the influence of K-line status on postoperative clinical outcomes in patients with cervical posterior longitudinal ligament ossification (OPLL).
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, OVID, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases for English-language literature related to K-line and OPLL up to June 7, 2024. The study underwent rigorous selection, quality assessment, and data extraction, followed by meta-analysis using Review Manager 5.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is one of the most important methods for treating a wide range of hematologic malignancies and bone marrow failure diseases. However, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a major complication associated with this method, can seriously affect the survival and quality of life of patients. Acute GVHD (aGVHD) occurs within 100 days after transplantation, and gastrointestinal aGVHD (GI-aGVHD) is one of the leading causes of nonrecurrent death after allo-HSCT.
