Iridocorneal angles from the eyes of female rabbits subjected to large doses of estrogens were examined under an electron scanning microscope. A temporary rise in intraocular tension was noted lasting up to 24 h after injection of estrogens, followed by a slow return to normal conditions. Histostructural changes of the iridicorneal angle were observed as widening of the marginal sector, enlarging of the dimple-shaped depressions and also increased number and narrowing of the micropores in the central part of the iridocorneal field. The authors postulate that estrogens affect the histostructure of the iridocorneal field and also stimulate the circulation of the aqueous fluid.

Purpose: To investigate the relationship between nocturnal blood pressure (BP) dip and parapapillary choroidal vessel density (pCVD) in patients with normal-tension glaucoma (NTG).
Methods: This study analyzed 267 eyes of 267 untreated NTG patients who underwent 24-hour (h) intraocular pressure (IOP) and ambulatory BP monitoring in the habitual position. Patients were classified into 3 groups [non-dippers (nocturnal BP dip < 10%), dippers (nocturnal BP dip between 10% and 20%, and over-dippers (nocturnal BP dip > 20%)], and pCVDs were measured by using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images.

We have compared the biomechanical properties of human and porcine corneas using vibrational optical coherence tomography (VOCT). The elastic modulus of the cornea has been previously reported in the literature to vary from about several kPa to more than several GPa based on the results of different techniques. In addition, the formation of corneal cones near the central cornea in keratoconus has been observed in the clinic.

Scleral-fixated intraocular lens (SFIOL) is a widely used technique for IOL implantation in patients where capsular support is insufficient. Most surgeons have shifted away from sutured to sutureless SFIOL techniques where haptics of a multifocal IOL are inserted in scleral tunnels/flaps. Large-scale publications have shown wide variation in the refractive status of eyes post-SFIOL even in the best of the hands.

Aim: To present a technique of transcapsular scleral fixation of the standard capsular tension ring (CTR) through equatorial capsulotomy and in-the-bag intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in subluxated lenses.
Methods: This retrospective consecutive case series included patients with subluxated lenses by more than 180 degrees who underwent lens extraction, transcapsular scleral fixation of the standard CTR through equatorial capsulotomy, in-the-bag IOL implantation and with at least 6mo follow-up. Preoperative and postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), complications, and postoperative IOL tilt and decentration were recorded.

Aim: Normal tension glaucoma (NTG) is a common optic neuropathy that can be challenging to diagnose due to the intraocular pressure remaining within the normal range. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for the effective lifelong management of patients.
Methods: This study recruited a total of 225 participants.
