Four amino acid's complementarity hypotheses have been checked using the data on the structure of 122 protein complexes taken from protein Brookhaven Data Bank. No one of hypotheses was conformed at the analysis of the contact region structures of the protein complexes examined.

Facile phase selective synthesis of copper antimony sulphide (CAS) nanostructures is important because of their tunable photoconductive and electrochemical properties. In this study, off-stoichiometric famatinite phase CAS (CAS) quasi-spherical and quasi-hexagonal colloidal nanostructures (including nanosheets) of sizes, 2.4-18.

Nonstoichiometric pseudoprotic ionic liquids (NPPILs) are an emerging class of ionic liquids with interesting physical properties and intriguing prospects for technological applications. However, fundamental questions remain about the proton transfer equilibria that underlie their ionic character. We use a combination of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and small-angle X-ray scattering to characterize the equilibria of trihexylamine/butyric acid and water/butyric acid mixtures.

Probing the Self-Assembly dynamics of cellulose nanocrystals by X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy.

Hypothesis: Charge-stabilized colloidal cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) can self-assemble into higher-ordered chiral nematic structures by varying the volume fraction. The assembly process exhibits distinct dynamics during the isotropic to liquid crystal phase transition, which can be elucidated using X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS).

Experiments: Anionic CNCs were dispersed in propylene glycol (PG) and water spanning a range of volume fractions, encompassing several phase transitions.

Particle Markov Chain Monte Carlo Approach to Inference in Transient Surface Kinetics.

In this work, we develop a novel Bayesian approach to study the adsorption and desorption of CO onto a Pd(111) surface, a process of great importance in natural sciences. The motivation for this work comes from the recent availability of time-resolved infrared spectroscopy data and the need for model interpretability and uncertainty quantification in chemical processes. The objective is to learn the relevant parameters that characterize the process: coverage with time, rate constants, activation energies, and pre-exponential factors.

Background And Aims: Tropical forests exchange more carbon dioxide (CO2) with the atmosphere than any other terrestrial biome. Yet, uncertainty in the projected carbon balance over the next century is roughly three-times greater for the tropics than other ecosystems. Our limited knowledge of tropical plant physiological responses, including photosynthetic, to climate change is a substantial source of uncertainty in our ability to forecast the global terrestrial carbon sink.
