Broiler breeder pullets were vaccinated against fowl cholera at 10 and 20 wk of age using a live PM-1 Pasteurella multocida vaccine administered by wing web stick. Antibody production for P. multocida was measured at vaccination and at 1-4-wk intervals following vaccination by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Groups of vaccinated birds were challenged at 23 and 32 wk of age. Two doses of a live PM-1 P. multocida vaccine protected broiler breeder hens against virulent challenge up to 32 wk of age when measured antibody levels had a range of 1951-4346 and a geometric titer of 3000.

The effects of lifetime feeding of hydrolyzed yeast (HY) to broiler breeders (BB) on egg production, egg quality, and hatchling attributes were investigated. The birds were selected from two groups reared on diets with or without 0.05 % HY from hatch.

Background: In the cryopreservation process, rooster spermatozoa are vastly sensitive to reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aimed to investigate the effects of Lake extender supplemented via Cysteamine (CYS) on the quality and fertility characteristics of rooster semen during the cryopreservation process.
Methods: Semen samples were collected from 10 proved Ross-308 roosters, diluted and cryopreserved in the Lake extender which contained 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8 mM of CYS (C-0, C-1, C-2, C-4, and C-8, respectively).

This objective of this study was to investigate the effects of L-arginine (L-Arg) and L-carnitine (LC) and their mixture in the diet (at lower levels) on sperm quality in aging broiler breeder roosters. Thirty-two broiler breeder roosters of the Arian breed were kept at 50 wk of age after a 12-wk acclimatization period. The birds were divided into four treatments and eight replicates in a completely randomized design.

Unlabelled: are Gram-negative, rod-shaped, entero-invasive foodborne bacteria and are frequently detected in chicken houses and facilities of poultry broiler complexes. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence, critical entry points, and movement pattern of along different stages of a complex. A total of 1,071 environmental samples were collected from 38 production houses (8 pullet, 10 breeder, and 20 broiler), a hatchery, 6 transport trucks, and a processing plant.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of feeding broiler breeders hydroxychloride and organic sources of zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and manganese (Mn) on hatching eggs, embryo, and hatchlings attributes. A total of 408 female (♀) and 48 male (♂) Ross 708 broiler breeder were placed (17 ♀ and 2 ♂/pen). The pens were housed in two rooms (12 pens/room).
