Purpose: To evaluate the 1-year clinical performance of Dyract in primary molars.

Materials And Methods: 55 children (aged 4-9 years) received 1-3 restorations (n = 91) utilizing Dyract, a new restorative material combining properties of both glass ionomers and composites.

Results: The so-called compomer material showed good handling characteristics and a survival rate of 97% after 1 year. Nevertheless, the material demonstrated an average wear of 190 microns during 1 year, with 67% of the restorations having occlusal wear of less than 200 microns. The combination of a low failure rate and the ease of application makes the compomer material very suitable for application in the primary dentition.

Objectives: The trial aimed to compare the clinical performance and radiographic success of ACTIVA BioACTIVE versus Compomer in restoring class-II cavities of primary molars.

Materials And Methods: A non-inferior split-mouth design was considered. A pre-calculated sample size of 96 molars (48 per group) with class-2 cavities of twenty-one children whose ages ranged from 5 to 10 years were randomly included in the trial.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the 3-dimensional (3D) internal adaptation (IA) and fracture resistance (FR) of compomer and glass ionomers applied after conventional caries removal to sound dentin (CCRSD) and selective caries removal to firm dentin (SCRFD) in .

Methods: Thirty extracted primary molars were randomly assigned to three main groups ( = 10) as glass hybrid restorative (GHR) (Equia Forte HT), conventional glass ionomer (CGIR) (Voco Ionofil Molar) and compomer (Dyract XP). Each group was randomly divided into two subgroups according to caries removal technique as CCRSD ( = 5) and SCRFD ( = 5).

Damping Behaviour and Mechanical Properties of Restorative Materials for Primary Teeth.

Materials (Basel)

November 2022

Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Medical Centre for Dentistry, Justus Liebig University Giessen and University Hospital Giessen and Marburg, Campus Giessen, Schlangenzahl 14, 35392 Giessen, Germany.

The energy dissipation capacity and damping ability of restorative materials used to restore deciduous teeth were assessed compared to common mechanical properties. Mechanical properties (flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, modulus of toughness) for Compoglass F, Dyract eXtra, SDR flow, Tetric Evo Ceram, Tetric Evo Ceram Bulk Fill, and Venus Diamond were determined using a 4-point bending test. Vickers hardness and Martens hardness, together with its plastic index (η), were recorded using instrumented indentation testing.

Comparison of physical and mechanical properties of three different restorative materials in primary teeth: an in vitro study.

Eur Arch Paediatr Dent

October 2022

Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Dentistry, Kampüs-Merkez, Sivas, Turkey.

Objective: Physical and mechanical properties of three different (Ketac Molar Easymix, Dyract XP, Cention N (CN)) restoratives with different ingredients were evaluated.

Materials And Methods: Four groups were obtained; Group 1: CN LightCure, Group 2: CN SelfCure, Group 3: Ketac Molar Easymix and Group 4: Dyract XP. Disk-shaped samples (n = 10) were prepared and evaluated for the surface roughness test using a profilometer.

Purpose: To evaluate the temperature changes in primary teeth pulp chambers of different dentin thicknesses during polymerization of four glass ionomer-based restorative materials.

Materials And Methods: Eighty extracted, caries‑free, primary molars were prepared as standardized Class I occlusal cavities with dentin thicknesses of 1 mm and 2 mm. Four glass ionomerbased restorative materials, Dyract XP, Photac Fil Quick Aplicap, Fuji II LC, and GCP Glass Fill, were placed in the cavities and cured with two light-curing units.
