Article Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the shear bond strength to dentin of fluoride-releasing materials.

Materials And Methods: Human, noncarious extracted permanent molars stored in distilled water were used. Flat buccal and lingual dentin surfaces were ground wet on 600-grit silicon carbide paper. The teeth were then distributed at random into three groups of 8 teeth (16 surfaces) each: Group 1: Compoglass; Group 2: Fuji II LC; Group 3: Dyract. Cylindrical samples of the materials were prepared in plastic molds and bonded to the dentin surface according to the manufacturers' instructions. All samples were placed in distilled water for 24 hours, thermocycled for 500 cycles in distilled water at 6 degrees C and 60 degrees C and sheared with an Instron at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/minute.

Results: In MPa: Group 1: 16.29 +/- 5.35; Group 2: 15.42 +/- 4.77; Group 3: 15.33 +/- 6.96. ANOVA revealed that there was no statistically significant difference between the groups. Fracture patterns, examined with the SEM, revealed material cohesive failures for all groups.

Anions play a crucial role in various environmental, chemical, and biological processes. Among various anions, the production of perchlorate (ClO ) ion is expected to rise in upcoming years, and thus, an efficient method for the detection of perchlorate ion is highly desirable. In this effort, a pyridyl-benzimidazole-based luminescent probe (RSB1) containing two N-H donor sites has been synthesized for selective detection of perchlorate ion.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to use calorimetry to understand the difference in energy transferred by three phacoemulsification surgical platforms to the eye.

Patients And Methods: A phacoemulsification tip was lowered into a double-walled calorimeter filled with distilled water. The foot pedal was depressed for 30 seconds and the change in temperature of the water was measured by a temperature probe.

To improve the stability of D-limonene, a protective barrier is essential to prevent degradation and maintain its integrity. Therefore, the potential of using seed gum (LPSG) as a novel source for creating electrospun nanofibers for D-limonene encapsulation was investigated by varying LPSG concentrations (0.25%, 0.

Background: The objective of the in vitro study was to evaluate the impact of two adhesive removal techniques on the surface roughness of the human enamel surface using laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM).

Methods: Forty healthy first upper molar teeth were included in this experiment (20 teeth per each group). T0 measurement of surface roughness parameter of the teeth were conducted using LSCM.

Multilayer laminated films are widely used as food packaging materials. The substances contained in these films have the potential to migrate into food in contact, but the actual situation is unknown. In this study, we first determined the contents of 24 elements in 42 food laminate bags by ICP-OES and ICP-MS.
