Background: Skin cancer is the most frequently diagnosed type of cancer among all malignant neoplasms. The decrease in mitotic activity and the death of intact keratinocytes arise due to the constantly renewing epithelium being highly sensitive to ionizing radiation.

Aim: The aim of the study is immunohistochemical evaluation of the proliferative-apoptotic balance of keratinocytes, the fibrous component of the skin, and the expression of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines after single or fractional local electron irradiation.

This study provides a combined histochemical method for detecting enzyme activity of chloroacetate esterase simultaneously with immunolabeling of the components of a specific tissue microenvironment on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens. Chromogenic detection of the molecular targets within and outside the mast cells provides novel options in determining the histoarchitectonics of organ-specific mast cell populations, studying the functional significance of chloroacetate esterase and specifying the immune landscape of the tissue microenvironment.

The article summarizes data about the structural and functional organization of the sensory ganglion of V cranial nerve - trigeminal, or Gassesrian, ganglion. Information about its discovery, embryonic development, anatomy and topography, features of cyto- and histoarchitectonics are given, the role of neurotransmitters of trigeminal ganglion neurons in nociception mechanisms is reflected, the functional significance of the trigeminal system and clinical aspects of the lesion of the Gasserian ganglion are described.

November 2022

National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Sechenov University, 249036 Obninsk, Russia.

Background And Purpose: With the emergence of linear accelerators in radiotherapy, it becomes necessary to accurately select new dosing regimens. The purpose of this study was to assess the morphological changes of spermatogenesis after radiation exposure.

Materials And Methods: Male Wistar rats (n = 40) were subjected to targeted ionizing radiation on a pulsed electron accelerator "NOVAC-11" with doses of 2, 8 and 12 Gy.

The work is based on a morphological study of ampoules of the fallopian tubes of 130 young and senile women who gave birth. Macrometric, histological, immunohistochemical and micrometric methods of investigation were applied. The regularities of age-related morphological variability of the fallopian tube ampoule are revealed, which are manifested in a decrease in the parameters of their length, as well as external diameters in the middle of the ampoule and at the places of transition of the isthmus into the ampoule and ampoule into the funnel from young age to old age.
