Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 7-week supplemental BFR training intervention on both acute and chronic alterations in salivary testosterone (sTes) and cortisol (sCort) in collegiate American football players.
Methods: 58 males were divided into 4 groups: 3 completed an upper- and lower-body split resistance training routine (H, H/S, H/S/R; H = Heavy, S = Supplemental, R = BFR), with H/S/R performing end-of-session practical BFR training, and H/S serving as the volume-matched non-BFR group. The final group (M/S/R) completed modified resistance training programming with the same practical BFR protocol as H/S/R.

Background: While key to interpreting findings and assessing generalizability, implementation fidelity is underreported in mobile health (mHealth) literature. We evaluated implementation fidelity of an opt-in, hybrid, two-way texting (2wT) intervention previously demonstrated to improve 12-month retention on antiretroviral therapy (ART) among people living with HIV (PLHIV) in a quasi-experimental study in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Methods: Short message service (SMS) data and ART refill visit records were used to evaluate adherence to 2wT content, frequency and duration through the lens of the Conceptual Framework for Implementation Fidelity.

Purpose: To evaluate outcomes in patients aged ≥ 80 years following large-bore aspiration thrombectomy (LBAT) for the treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE).
Materials And Methods: All patients ≥ 80 years of age with PE treated via LBAT at a single center were analyzed from September 2019 - August 2024. This included the octogenarian subgroup from a recently published retrospective analysis assessing all PE patients treated with LBAT at our center between September 2019 and January 2023.

Early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings are key for improving health behaviors, including physical activity (PA) and nutrition. In 2017, the province of British Columbia (BC) implemented a provincial-level Active Play policy supported by a capacity-building intervention. Significant improvements in all PA policies and practices and the majority of nutrition policies were observed post-implementation.

Background: Peripheral intravenous access is a common invasive clinical procedure, and difficult peripheral intravenous access is a common problem in the care of emergency and critically ill patients. The timeliness of immediate treatment is affected by the difficulty of intravenous access in clinical practice, which endangers patient safety. Repeated injections increase the pressure on nursing staff, consume more nursing hours, and incur higher medical costs.
