The involvement of the central nervous system in the Schistosomiasis mansoni is uncommon and in the literature exist few reports in relation this occurrence in the brain, in that the schistosoma eggs, usually promote a granulomatous reaction that remember an expansive tumour. A patient, male sex, from São Vicente de Ferrer (MA), 27 years old, had a tumour in the cerebellum, that had surgical therapy. Later histological studies of the cerebellar material of the patient, demonstrated an extensive granulomatous reaction around schistosoma eggs. The granulomatous reaction present different stages of evolution, since degenerative necrosis to organization granulomatous reaction. This is the first report from Maranhão (Brazil). The evolution of the patient was characterized for incoordination of members and trembling.

Tuberculosis (TB) of the rib is an uncommon manifestation of extrapulmonary TB that can pose significant diagnostic challenges, especially when presenting as a breast mass. We report the case of a 74-year-old woman who presented with a left breast lump, initially suspected to be a plasmacytoma due to its imaging characteristics and clinical history. The mass was surgically excised, and histopathological analysis revealed granulomatous inflammation with caseous necrosis, suggesting TB.

Dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid (HA) have been widely used in recent years as a less surgically invasive cosmetic treatment. Although delayed foreign body granuloma may occur as a rare adverse reaction after the procedure, detailed histological reports are still limited. When occurring on the buccal mucosa of the oral cavity, the histopathology may resemble some lesions of minor salivary gland origin due to the material properties of HA.

Mycobacteria infections are caused by species of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTB) and other species called Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria (NTM). Identification of mycobacteria species is very important to define treatment and it can be achieved by direct culture. However, the lack of clear protocols regarding the use of culture or molecular tests on specimens diagnosed with granulomatous lesions causes delays in the diagnosis of the etiological agents and, consequently, the definition of the right treatment.
