Background: Prospective longitudinal evidence considering the entire childhood food consumption in relation to the development of islet autoimmunity (IA or) type 1 diabetes is lacking.
Objectives: We studied the associations of consumption of various foods and their combinations with IA and type 1 diabetes risk.
Methods: Children with genetic susceptibility to type 1 diabetes born in 1996-2004 were followed from birth up to ≤6 y of age in the prospective birth cohort type 1 diabetes prediction and prevention study (n = 5674).

Microvascular inflammation (MVI) is a key diagnostic feature of antibody-mediated rejection (AMR); however, recipients without donor-specific antibodies (DSA) defy etiologic classification using C4d staining of peritubular capillaries (C4d) and conventional DSA assignment. We evaluated MVI ≥ 2 (Banff g + ptc ≥ 2) using Banff 2019 AMR (independent of MVI ≥ 2 but including C4d) with unconventional endothelial C4d staining of glomerular capillaries (C4d) and - arterial endothelium and/or intima (C4d) using tissue immunoperoxidase, shared-eplet and subthreshold DSA (median fluorescence intensity, [MFI] 100-499), and capillary ultrastructure from 3398 kidney transplant samples for evidence of AMR. MVI ≥ 2 (n = 202 biopsies) from 149 kidneys (12.

Background Cervical lesions, often linked to high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) infection, pose a significant public health concern globally. Human HPV is considered the principal etiological factor in the development and transformation of pre-malignant lesions of the cervix leading to cervical carcinoma. The global distribution of HPV genotypes exhibits significant variability, liable to be influenced by the intricate interplay of geographical and biological factors among different HPV types and host immunogenetic elements.

is a gram-negative bacterium that is the etiological agent of the tropical disease melioidosis. Currently, there is no licensed vaccine for melioidosis, but numerous candidates are being tested for protective efficacy and characterization of the elicited immune response. Our lab has previously reported the immunogenicity of a Bucl8-protein-based peptide antigen, designated L1-CRM (Cross-reacting material 197).

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) has remained an enigmatic disease since its initial description by Von Graefe. Over the years, multiple risk factors have been recognized: these include psychological stress, behavioral traits, and corticosteroids. The basic pathophysiology of CSC involves choroidal thickening, vascular congestion, altered choroidal blood flow (ChBF), and choroidal hyperpermeability, leading to retinal pigment epithelium decompensation and subsequent neurosensory detachment.
