Beta-actin, cyclophilin and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) are all constantly expressed proteins that regulate cellular structures and endogenous cytoarchitectural functions. In this study, we used an in vivo N1S1 rat hepatoma model to examine changes in the expression levels of these housekeeping genes in normal and tumor liver samples. The beta-actin, cyclophilin and GAPDH genes were all up-regulated in tumor groups as compared to the controls. Our results suggest that up-regulation of beta-actin, cyclophilin and GAPDH genes may be essential for oncogenesis in hepatoma.

Aim: To investigate the stability of the seven housekeeping genes: beta-actin (), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (), 18s ribosomal unit 5 (), cyclophilin A (), hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase (), ribosomal protein large P0 () and terminal uridylyl transferase 1 () in the diabetic retinal tissue of rat model.
Methods: The expression of these seven genes in rat retinal tissues was determined using real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) in two groups; normal control rats and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The stability analysis of gene expression was investigated using geNorm, NormFinder, BestKeeper, and comparative delta-Ct (ΔCt) algorithms.

In traditional Chinese medicine, is a valuable herb with numerous therapeutic applications for a range of ailments. There have not yet been any articles on the methodical assessment and choice of the best reference genes for gene expression studies. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is widely employed as the predominant method for investigating gene expression.

Macroautophagy/autophagy contributes to maladaptive kidney repair by inducing pro-fibrotic factors such as FGF2 (fibroblast growth factor 2), but the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here, we show that EGR1 (early growth response 1) was induced in injured proximal tubules after ischemic acute kidney injury (AKI) and this induction was suppressed by autophagy deficiency in inducible, renal tubule-specific (autophagy related 7) knockout (iRT- KO) mice. In cultured proximal tubular cells, TGFB1 (transforming growth factor beta 1) induced EGR1 and this induction was also autophagy dependent.

14-3-3 proteins are a ubiquitously expressed family of adaptor proteins. Despite exhibiting high sequence homology, several 14-3-3 isoforms have isoform-specific binding partners and roles. We reported that 14-3-3β interacts with FKBP12 and synaptopodin to maintain the structure of actin fibers in podocytes.
