The feeding of a shipment of imported corn was associated with a severe reduction in growth and increased mortality in geese, and increased mortality in broilers. Pathological examinations revealed hepatopathy, visceral gout and mild nephropathy in geese, and in broilers an hepatopathy, which was often severe, and ascites. Samples of feed from affected geese farms were examined for up to 24 mycotoxins, and ochratoxin was found in 6 of 15 samples at levels up to 930 ng/g. The syndrome was experimentally reproduced by feeding geese and broilers suspect feeds with the natural ochratoxin contamination. It is believed that another, unidentified, mycotoxin was the major cause of the hepatotoxicity, and that ochratoxin served in this case as an indicator of a multi-mycotoxin involvement.

Objective: Asparagine synthetase (ASNS) is an aminotransferase responsible for the biosynthesis of aspartate by using aspartic acid and glutamine. ASNS is highly expressed in fast-growing broilers, but few studies have reported the regulatory role of ASNS in muscle development.
Methods: To explore the function of ASNS in chicken muscle development, the expression of ASNS in different chicken breeds and tissues were first performed by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

Pig counting is an important work in the breeding process of large-scale pig farms. In order to achieve high-precision pig identification in the conditions of pigs occluding each other, illumination difference, multiscenes, and differences in the number of pigs and the imaging size, and to also reduce the number of parameters of the model, a pig counting algorithm of improved YOLOv5n was proposed. Firstly, a multiscene dataset is created by selecting images from several different pig farms to enhance the generalization performance of the model; secondly, the Backbone of YOLOv5n was replaced by the FasterNet model to reduce the number of parameters and calculations to lay the foundation for the model to be applied to Android system; thirdly, the Neck of YOLOv5n was optimized by using the E-GFPN structure to enhance the feature fusion capability of the model; Finally, Focal EIoU loss function was used to replace the CIoU loss function of YOLOv5n to improve the model's identification accuracy.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of (YSa), (YS), and (QS) on growth performance, nitrogen metabolism, immune ability, antioxidant capability, and intestinal flora of yellow-feather broilers.
