Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are crucial regulatory molecules that participate in numerous cellular development processes, and they have gathered much interest recently. HOXA10 antisense RNA (HOXA10-AS, also known as HOXA-AS4) is a novel lncRNA that was identified to be dysregulated in some prevalent malignancies. In this review, the clinical significance of HOXA10-AS for the prognosis of various cancers is analyzed.

Background: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a motor neuron disease caused by mutations in the SMN1 gene. Nusinersen, an antisense oligonucleotide, has been shown to improve motor function in SMA patients. Objective: Tofersen, an antisense oligonucleotide, has recently received FDA and EMA approval for treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in adults with SOD1 gene mutations. This systematic review and meta-analysis synthesized evidence on tofersen's safety and efficacy in patients with SOD1-related ALS.
Methods: A comprehensive search of three databases was conducted from inception through October 2024.

Genomic imprinting is an epigenetic process that results in parent-of-origin effects on mammalian development and growth. Research on genomic imprinting in domesticated animals has lagged due to a primary focus on orthologs of mouse and human imprinted genes. This emphasis has limited the discovery of imprinted genes specific to livestock.
