Indian J Pathol Microbiol

Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University.

Published: October 1997

Soft tissue tumours of eyelid constituted 28.9% of all eyelid tumours. Morphologically they were either vascular 32 cases (49.23%), neural 24 cases (36.92%), fibrous 6 cases (9.23%) or adipose tissue tumours 3 cases (4.62%). The age ranged from 1-30 years, haemangiomas and neurofibromas were present since birth. Upper eyelid was involved in 81.54% cases. Neurofibroma was associated with generalized lesions in 13.6% cases.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a type of head and neck cancer (HNC) with a high recurrence rate, which has been reported to be associated with the presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs). Tribbles pseudokinase 3 (TRIB3) is involved in intracellular signaling and the aim of the present study was to investigate the role of TRIB3 in the maintenance of CSCs. Analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas database samples demonstrated a positive correlation between TRIB3 expression levels and shorter overall survival rates in patients with HNC.

An Anticancer Bioactive Peptide Combined with Oxaliplatin Inhibited Gastric Cancer Cells and .

Curr Protein Pept Sci

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Medical Cell Biology in Inner Mongolia, Clinical Medical Research Center, Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia,010050, China.

Background: Gastric cancer has become one of the major diseases threatening human health. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of an anticancer bioactive peptide (ACBP) combined with oxaliplatin (OXA) on MKN-45, SGC7901, and NCI-N87 differentiated human gastric cancer cells and GES-1 immortalized human gastric mucosal epithelial cells. The therapeutic effect and action mechanism of short-term intermittent ACBP combined with OXA on nude mice with human gastric cancer were also investigated.

Diffuse-type giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath (GCTTS) is a rare, benign, yet locally aggressive soft tissue tumor commonly affecting the hand. This case report presents a 55-year-old male with a 5-year history of GCTTS in the flexor tendon sheath of the long finger. MRI played a critical role in both diagnosis and surgical planning, revealing key features such as the tumor's 10 cm length, hemosiderin deposition, and blooming artifacts.

Introduction: Despite the established influence of gut bacteria, the role of the gut virome in modulating colorectal cancer (CRC) patient chemotherapy response remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the impact of antiviral (AV) drug-induced gut virome dysbiosis on the efficacy of 5-FU in CRC treatment.

Methods: Using a subcutaneous CRC mouse model, we assessed tumor growth and immune responses following AV treatment, fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), and 5-FU administration.

Background Breast carcinoma cases are rising steadily and represent a major cause of mortality and morbidity in India. In response to breast carcinoma, the immune system is activated, resulting in lymphocyte infiltration in and around the tumor nests. This interaction between the tumor and immune system is the basis for studying tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs).
