A boy in middle childhood with a history of early morning headaches presented to secondary care after being found to have bilateral papilloedema by his community optometrist. CT head showed a large right-sided heterogeneous calcific and haemorrhagic mass causing marked mass effect and midline shift. Preoperatively, the lesion was characterised on MRI as a haemorrhagic mass with a 'popcorn' appearance suggestive of a giant cavernous malformation measuring 6.

Laser speckle flowgraphy (LSFG) offers a non-invasive, accessible means to evaluate ocular blood flow. A case of a woman in her 70s presenting with 6 months of ocular injection following cataract surgery is presented in this report. LSFG measurements indicated lower mean blur rate (MBR) values in the affected eye compared with the healthy eye, though a decrease was also noted in the healthy eye.

Brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs), and intracranial aneurysms are major causes of hemorrhagic stroke, yet noninvasive therapies to prevent growth or rupture are lacking. Understanding the genetic basis of these malformations is critical for uncovering underlying mechanisms, developing targeted prevention strategies, and identifying novel therapeutic targets. This review highlights the causal genes and signaling pathways in AVMs, CCMs, and intracranial aneurysms, noting both their commonalities and differences.

Unlabelled: Cavernous hemangiomas are venous malformations characterized by interconnected channels of abnormally dilated blood vessels having low flow of blood. Whilst venous malformations most commonly affect the head and neck region, isolated cavernous hemangiomas of the palatine tonsils are extremely rare; with only 4 cases being reported in the English Literature. We report a case of a 43-year-old female who was referred to us for the evaluation and management of a right tonsillar swelling.
