This case report elucidates the clinical and surgical journey of a 62-year-old patient with a history of multiple comorbidities including a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) infection, presenting with temporospatial disorientation, bradypsychia, and bradyphasia, without motor deficits, diagnosed with sarcomatous meningioma and skull lysis. Amidst the complexities of managing primary brain tumors, this report underscores the significance of thorough morphopathological examination, while considering patient demographics and tumor localization in assessing the nature of the neoplasm. It highlights meningiomas as predominantly benign yet stemming from monoclonal proliferation, with their occurrence influenced by genetic predispositions and environmental factors such as ionizing radiation exposure.

Objective: Neurosurgery is a medical field that requires specialized professionals and equipment, 2 important but scarce resources in low- and middle-income countries. Our goal was to report our experience with the replacement and implementation of linear accelerators with radiosurgery capabilities at "Sociedad de Lucha Contra el Cáncer" (SOLCA) Hospital in Quito, Ecuador, and give some recommendations for future technological replacements (TRs).
Methods: Two surveys were performed in SOLCA's radiosurgery department, one before the TR was finalized and one after, consisting of an open and multiple-choice questionnaire.

Gliomas, which may be broadly categorized as low grade glioma and high grade glioma, account for the majority of brain tumors in children. Expectant management, surgery, radiation therapy (RT), chemotherapy, targeted therapy or combinations of these modalities may be used for management of pediatric gliomas.

Background: The study aimed to investigate the prognostic factors for patients with brain metastases undergoing radiosurgical treatment and to introduce a simple and practical scoring system for the prediction of survival time.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data for 311 patients treated with Gamma Knife radiosurgery at a single institute. The mean age at time of treatment was 60 years (range 23-86 years), and the median Karnofsky performance status (KPS) score was 90 (range 60-100).
