Dyserythropoietic anemia and myopathy syndrome (DAMS) with neonatal losses was recently characterized as an autosomal recessive disorder caused by an frameshift variant in English Springer Spaniels (ESSPs). The frequency and dissemination of the mutation remained unknown. The EHBP1L1 protein is essential for muscle function, and the Rab8/10-EHBP1L1-Bin1-dynamin axis participates in nuclear polarization during the enucleation of erythroblasts.

The Norberg angle (NA) plays a crucial role in evaluating hip joint conformation, particularly in canines, by quantifying femoral head subluxation within the hip joint. Therefore, it is an important metric for evaluating hip joint quality and diagnosing canine hip dysplasia, the most prevalent hereditary orthopedic disorder in dogs. While contemporary tools offer automated quantification of the NA, their usage typically entails manual labeling and verification of radiographic images by professional veterinarians.

Fanconi syndrome is a disorder of renal proximal tubule transport characterized by metabolic acidosis, amino aciduria, glucosuria, and phosphaturia. There are acquired and hereditary forms of this disorder. A late-onset form of Fanconi syndrome in Basenjis was first described in 1976 and is now recognized as an inherited disease in these dogs.
