Introduction: Asthma is one of the severe respiratory diseases and affects the health of people globally. Animal studies have found that the mucin 5ac(Muc5ac) levels in the lung are associated with asthma. This paper aimed to systematically evaluate the relationship between Muc5ac levels in lung and asthma by extracting relevant data from animal experiments.

This observation reports the case of an occupational allergic asthma in a laboratory technician, caused by exposure to formaldehyde. She experienced feelings of discomfort during low exposure, below the regulatory exposure thresholds. Sent to occupational medicine, signs of an asthma attack were noted by the doctor.

Adverse effects on the respiratory system were associated with intensive petroleum-related industrial activities. The study aimed to assess the impact of petrochemical exposure on childhood asthma using various surrogate indices. A singleton birth cohort from 2004 to 2017 was conducted, leveraging two linked nationwide databases in Taiwan.

In public health, risk experts often define acceptable risk targets without community input. We developed a novel method for applying behavioral microeconomics to integrate individuals' risk preferences into risk assessment. To demonstrate this methodology, we explored a risk-risk tradeoff case scenario: increased asthma risk from increased cleaning and disinfection (C&D) and increased infection risk from decreased C&D for healthcare staff.

Background: The increasing number of motor vehicles in Dhaka city is contributing to a rise in air pollution. Prolonged exposure to vehicle emissions has led to various health issues for everyone, but traffic policies might be particularly affected. This study aims to evaluate their knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding air pollution, with the goal of raising awareness and promoting healthier practices to mitigate the adverse effects of pollution.
