IL-2/IL-2R inhibition improved the prognosis of ischemic stroke by regulating T cells, while the respective contribution of T cells with high/medium/low-affinity IL-2 receptors remained unclear. Single-cell RNA sequencing data of ischemic brain tissue revealed that most of the high-affinity IL-2R would be expressed by CD8 + T cells, especially by a highly-proliferative subset. Interestingly, only the CD8 + T cells with high-affinity IL-2R infiltrated ischemic brain tissues, highly expressing 32 genes (including Cdc20, Cdca3/5, and Asns) and activating 7 signaling pathways (including the interferon-alpha response pathway, a key mediator in the proliferation, migration, and cytotoxicity of CD8 + T cells).

Background: Presentations and outcomes of acute myocardial infarction (MI) differ between women and men, with the worst outcomes being reported in younger women. Mental stress induced ischemia and sympathetic activation have been suggested to play a prominent role in the pathogenesis of MI in younger women, however, the impact of sex hormones on these parameters remains unknown.

Methods: The effect of sex hormones and age on myocardial infarct size and myocardial sympathetic activity (MSA) was assessed in male and female, as well as young (4-6 months) and aged (20-22 months) FVB/N mice (n = 106, 60 gonadectomized and 46 sham-operated animals) who underwent in vivo [C]meta-hydroxyephedrine ([C]mHED) positron emission tomography (PET) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging 24 h after a 30 min myocardial ischemic injury.

Background And Objectives: Fatigue is a common and disabling symptom in cerebrovascular disease and has been associated with white matter damage, but the underlying disease mechanisms are poorly understood. Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is the most common genetic form of stroke and causes a cerebral small vessel disease arteriopathy with white matter ischemia. We determined the prevalence of fatigue in CADASIL, the factors associated with it, and its relationship with both depression and cognitive impairment.
