As PI-LL mismatch is an effective index for spinal surgery and PI-LL less than 10 probably indicates better quality of life, this study aimed to assess spinopelvic parameters, lumbar instability, and lumbar muscle morphology in patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP) with different PI-LL mismatches. This cross-sectional study included 158 CLBP patients. The association between lumbar extensor muscle morphology (measured from magnetic resonance imaging) and spinopelvic parameters (measured from standing lateral radiographs) and lumbar instability (measured from lumbar flexion/extension radiographs) was compared between two groups of patients with different PI-LL mismatch.

Introduction Spinal fusion surgery with pedicle screws is commonly performed to stabilize the spine of osteoporotic patients. However, securing a strong screw fixation in osteoporotic bone presents significant challenges due to the reduced bone density. This study aimed to compare the biomechanical performance in an osteoporotic bone model of pedicle screws inserted using two different techniques, the Jamshidi needle technique and the pedicle probe technique, as well as the influence of tapping on both these techniques.

Background: Total hip arthroplasty is the preferred treatment for advanced hip osteoarthritis, yet complications like hip dislocation (0.2 %-10 %) persist due to factors such as implant design, positioning, surgical technique, and patient-specific conditions. Impingement between prosthetic components or the acetabulum and proximal femur is a primary cause of instability.

Background And Aim: Osteoid osteoma (Oo) and osteoblastoma (Ob) are rare primary bone tumors with a higher prevalence in the second decade of life. Treatment can be conservative, but in cases of spinal location, resective surgery is of great importance but may be challenging.
Material And Methods: We report four pediatric cases of Oo and Ob managed in our unit, with different locations at the level of the cervical spine.

Background: Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is crucial for the safety of scoliosis surgery, providing real-time feedback on the spinal cord and nerve function, primarily through motor-evoked potentials (MEPs). The choice of anesthesia plays a crucial role in influencing the quality and reliability of these neuromonitoring signals. This systematic review evaluates how different anesthetic techniques-total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), volatile anesthetics, and regional anesthesia approaches such as Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB), spinal, and epidural anesthesia-affect IONM during scoliosis surgery.
