Published: January 1998

Simple one/two step purification procedures based on the solid-phase extraction technique were effectively exploited to clean up radiolabelled drugs represented by dihydrochloride of [6-3H]-stobadine and hydrochloride of [4-3H]-pentacaine, derivatization agents such as 4-nitrobenzoyl chloride or 3,5-dinitrobenzoyl chloride, as well as the aqueous phosphate or triethylamine acetate buffer solutions.

Background: Evidence supporting cannabis substitution along with liberalized cannabis laws have left recovery homes such as sober living houses (SLHs) in a difficult position regarding policies relating to cannabis use among SLH residents. Moreover, there are few studies of cannabis use among SLH residents that can be used to inform cannabis use policies. Here we assess whether cannabis is related to alcohol use among SLH residents.

Association between breastfeeding-friendly environmental factors and breastfeeding practices at 6 months in mothers in Taiwan.

Int Breastfeed J

November 2024

Department of Nurse-Midwifery and Women Health, National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences, 365, Ming-Te Rd, Peitou District, Taipei, 11219, Taiwan, ROC.

Article Synopsis
  • The WHO aims to increase exclusive breastfeeding rates to 50% in the first six months by 2025, influenced by personal choices and supportive environments.
  • The study followed 1,870 women from postpartum days 1-5 until six months to assess breastfeeding practices, focusing on factors like education level, family support, and availability of lactation rooms.
  • Results showed that only 30.9% maintained exclusive breastfeeding by six months; higher education, multiple births, and vaginal delivery were linked to better EBF continuation.

Neuromorphic computation has emerged as a potential alternative to subvert the von Neumann bottleneck issue in conventional computing. In this context, the development of resistive switching-based memristor devices mimicking various synaptic functionalities has engendered paramount attention. Here, we report a triradical-containing trinuclear Pd(II) cluster with a cyclohexane-like framework constituted by the Pd-Se coordination motif displaying facile memristor property with neuromorphic functionality as a thin-film device.

Simplified Meal Management in Adults Using an Advanced Hybrid Closed-Loop System.

Diabetes Technol Ther

January 2025

Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Hashomer, Israel.

The advanced hybrid closed-loop (AHCL) algorithm combines automated basal rates and corrections yet requires meal announcement for optimal performance, which poses a challenge for some. We aimed to compare glucose control in adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) using the MiniMed 780G AHCL system, utilizing simplified meal announcement versus precise carbohydrate (CHO) counting. In a study involving 14 adults with T1D, we evaluated glycemic control during a 13-week "precise phase," followed by two 3- to 4-week simplified meal announcement phases: "fixed one-step" (preset of one personalized fixed CHO amount) and "multistep" (entry of multiples of one, two, or three of these presets depending on meal size estimate).
