For commercial laying hens, the continuous high-intensity ovulation process leads to a significant accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the granulosa cells, inducing oxidative stress, which accelerates ovarian aging and shortens the peak laying period. The molecular mechanisms underlying this process remain poorly understood. Therefore, we modeled the processes of oxidative stress and antioxidant in chicken granulosa cells.

This study evaluated the effect of wheat germ oil (WGO), Bacillus subtilis, and their combination on growth performance, immune response, nutrient digestibility, intestinal microbial, oxidative status, and gene expression in heat-stressed broilers. Four hundred one-day-old male Ross 308 broilers were distributed into five pens (20 birds/pen) in four experimental groups: a control (CON) without additives, WGO group fed diet with WGO at 200 mg.kg, BS group fed diet with B.

Article Synopsis
  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurobehavioral condition influenced by various genetic and environmental factors, leading to disruptions in behavior and emotions.
  • A review of existing studies utilized databases like Google Scholar and PubMed to investigate the role of neural, anatomical, and chemical factors in ASD development, focusing particularly on hormones such as melatonin, serotonin, and IGF-1.
  • The review aims to explore the association between these hormones and ASD, evaluating their potential as therapeutic solutions to alleviate ASD symptoms.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by synapse and memory failure, and severe cognitive impairment. Physical exercise stimulates neuroprotective pathways, has pro-cognitive actions, and has been reported to alleviate memory impairment in AD. Irisin, an exercise-induced hormone, is secreted following proteolytic cleavage of fibronectin type-III-domain-containing 5 (FNDC5).

Background: Abnormal brain insulin signaling has been associated with Alzheimer's disease pathology and a faster rate of late-life cognitive decline. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we examined whether AD-related cortical proteins identified using targeted-proteomics play a role in the association of brain insulin signaling and cognitive decline.
