Abortion is taboo in Pakistani society, and it is stigmatised throughout the country, regardless of legal permission. Despite the burdens imposed by social norms of pronatalism and motherhood, women do exercise agency to have abortions. This study explores the experiences of women who have had induced abortions and maintained their social status within the community.

Solid organ transplantation (SOT) offers life-saving therapy for patients with organ failure, yet chronic rejection remains a significant challenge despite advances in immunosuppression. Macrophages are central to chronic rejection, orchestrating fibrosis, and tissue damage. Since it became clear that histone deacetylases (HDACs), a family of epigenetic regulators, modulate macrophage function and polarization and eventually affect fibrosis progression, the HDACs modulation has gained great importance.

The dura, arachnoid and pia mater, as the constituent layers of the meninges, along with cerebrospinal fluid in the subarachnoid space and ventricles, are essential protectors of the brain and spinal cord. Complemented by immune cells, blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and nerves, these connective tissue layers have held many secrets that have only recently begun to be revealed. Each meningeal layer is now known to have molecularly distinct types of fibroblasts.
