Tn5405 is a 12 kb staphylococcal composite transposon delimited by two inverted copies of the insertion sequence IS1182. This transposon carries two aminoglycosides resistance genes, aphA-3 and aadE, an altered gene similar to sat4 from Campylobacter coli BE/G4, and three open reading frames of unknown functions.

Background: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic Gram-negative bacterium capable of causing severe infections in immunocompromised patients such as those suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aimed to determine the resistance profile of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the prevalence of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) resistance genes in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Methods: The prevalence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was investigated in 458 patients, including 197 CKD patients and 261 patients suffering from gastrointestinal infections.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that regulate the expression level of the target genes in the cell. Breast cancer is responsible for the majority of cancer-related deaths among women globally. It has been proven that deregulated miRNAs may play an essential role in the progression of breast cancer.

Background: Diabetic conditions are associated with alterations in brain functions like memory deficits through processes like synaptic dysfunction in the hippocampus. Administering a combination of silver nanonaringenin and vitamin E appears promising since they are known to prevent diabetes and memory deficits in previous studies, and nanoformulation of naringenin may be one way to improve delivery and bioavailability of naringenin in the brain. This study investigated the effects of co-administering silver nanonaringenin and vitamin E against memory deficits and synaptic dysfunction in the hippocampus of a mice model of high-fat diet and streptozotocin (HS).

Background: Among people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF), methicillin-resistant (MRSA)-associated acute pulmonary exacerbations (APEs) have been increasing in prevalence and can cause rapid declines in lung function and increased mortality. Fortunately, since 2019, incidence has started to decline.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate if doxycycline has comparable efficacy to vancomycin for the treatment of APEs in PwCF.

This study aimed to develop a reliable and efficient genetic transformation method for the ornamental Indian Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.) using the sonication-assisted Rhizobium radiobacter-mediated transformation technique. To conduct the transformation, shoot apical meristem explants were infected with Rhizobium radiobacter (synonym Agrobacterium tumefaciens) strain LBA 4404 containing a binary vector pBI121 that harbours the GUS reporter gene (uidA) and kanamycin resistance gene nptII for plant selection.
