A high resolution karyotype was prepared using GBG-banded chromosomes from kidney epithelial cell lines of the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, Tursiops truncatus. The karyotype was used to generate a banded ideogram of T. truncatus that will facilitate cytogenetic analyses essential for comparison of dolphin chromosomes with those of potentially related terrestrial vertebrates. Fluorescence in situ hybridization analysis of the karytype using a rodent (Geomys bursarius) 28S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) probe allowed localization of four nucleolar organizer (NOR) regions to the short arms of two chromosome pairs. FISH mapping, using DNA probes, is dependent on a pre-existing banded ideogram, and provides the means to initiate physical mapping of the dolphin genome.

Electromyography (EMG) is a widely used diagnostic technique for evaluating the electrical activity of muscles and their controlling nerves. However, conventional surface electrodes with planar structures often suffer from low spatial resolution and suboptimal signal quality. Here, 3D-shaped, substrate-free, soft, and biocompatible liquid metal electrodes (LMe) are presented as a wearable interface for neuromuscular signal recording.

To analyze the involvement of disease in pterygopalatine fossa (PPF), its relation to regional extension of disease and the treatment outcome in rhino-oculo-cerebral mucormycosis (ROCM). A prospective study was done including 50 patients diagnosed with ROCM. All patients were examined and evaluated with high resolution CT and MRI imaging.

An atypical presentation of skull base osteomyelitis (SBO) involving the stylomastoid foramen in a diabetic individual without facial palsy or positive otoscopic ear findings has been presented. A case report of a 78 year old poorly controlled diabetic male who had severe ear pain without otoscopic ear findings and was treated prior with IV antibiotics for a period of two months without relief was referred to our tertiary care Center and was operated by us following which he had complete relief of symptoms. SBO presenting without otoscopic ear findings or facial nerve palsy at the region of the stylomastoid foramen is extremely rare.

Objective: This retrospective study aimed to determine the prevalence of progression in fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD) and the findings at diagnosis most associated with progression after two years of follow-up in a large Brazilian cohort.
Methods: This was a retrospective multicenter observational study in Brazil. Progression was defined after two years of follow-up.

Diels (Sapindaceae), a highly threatened maple endemic to the dry-hot valleys of the Yalong River in western Sichuan, China, represents a valuable resource for horticulture and conservation. This study presents the first chromosomal-scale genome assembly of (~626 Mb, 2 = 26), constructed using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C sequencing technologies. Comparative genomic analyses revealed significant recent genomic changes through rapid amplification of transposable elements, particularly long terminal repeat retrotransposons, coinciding with the dramatic climate change during recent uplift of the Hengduan Mountains.
