In recent years, the wine industry has been researching how to improve wine quality along the production value chain. In this scenario, we present here a new tool, MicroVi, a cost-effective chip-sized microscopy solution to detect and count yeast cells in wine samples. We demonstrate that this novel microscopy setup is able to measure the same type of samples as an optical microscopy system, but with smaller size equipment and with automated cell count configuration.

Given the integration of color emotion space information from multiple feature sources in multimodal recognition systems, effectively fusing this information presents a significant challenge. This article proposes a three-dimensional (3D) color-emotion space visual feature extraction model for multimodal data integration based on an improved Gaussian mixture model to address these issues. Unlike traditional methods, which often struggle with redundant information and high model complexity, our approach optimizes feature fusion by employing entropy and visual feature sequences.

Early diagnosis is crucial as NAFLD can progress to more severe conditions like steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma without timely intervention. While liver biopsy remains the gold standard for NAFLD assessment, abdominal ultrasound (US) imaging has emerged as a widely adopted non-invasive modality due to convenience and low cost.
