The present research was aimed to isolate potential probiotic organisms from dairy products locally made in and around the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. A total of 224 colonies were screened for primary attributes. Based on the results, 70 isolates were carried further for secondary screening.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a critical public health issue that requiring immediate action. Wild halophytic plants can be the solution for the AMR crisis because they harbor unique endophytes capable of producing potent antimicrobial metabolites. This study aimed at identifying promising and antimicrobial metabolites produced by endophytic/epiphytic bacteria recovered from the wild Bassia scoparia plant.

Introduction: Facemasks were widely mandated during the recent SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Especially the use by the general population is associated with a higher risk of improper handling of the mask and contamination and potential adverse microbiological consequences.
Methods: We investigated and quantified bacterial accumulation in facemasks used by the general population, using 16S rRNA (Sanger Sequencing), culture and biochemical analysis along with Rose Bengal staining.
