Purpose: Group B streptococci (GBS) are Gram-positive bacteria that are a leading cause of neonatal infections. Most invasive isolates are β-hemolytic, and hemolytic activity is critical for GBS virulence. Although nonhemolytic GBS strains are occasionally isolated, they are often thought to be attenuated in virulence.

Objective: To compare the microbiota of the oropharynx in healthy children and children with acute tonsillitis and pharyngitis.

Material And Methods: The study included two groups of patients (139 people) aged from 1 year to 17 years inclusive. The main group consisted of children with acute tonsillitis and acute pharyngitis (111 patients, average age 7±4 years), the control group consisted of 28 healthy children (average age 7±6 years) without signs of upper respiratory tract infection.

Bacterial peritonitis infections comprise a life-threatening clinical condition in domestic animals that commonly lead to sepsis and high mortality. A set of bacterial pathogens have been identified in septic peritonitis in livestock and companion animals. Nonetheless, most descriptions are restricted to case reports or limited to only one domestic species, and a restrict number of comprehensive studies involving this infection has focused on a great number of domestic animals.
