This paper presents a critical analysis of the article "Comparison of cooling tower blowdown and enhanced make up water treatment to minimize cooling water footprint" by Müller et al. (2024), which claims to reduce the water footprint (WF) of cooling circuits. The WF concept, introduced in 2002, has evolved with two main approaches: the "volumetric" approach, quantifying water consumption, and the "impact-oriented" approach, assessing impacts associated with water usage.

As the population of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) grows, there also grows an expanded need for non-invasive surveillance methods to guide management and intervention. A multimodal imaging approach layers complementary insights from echocardiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and other modalities into a clinician's view of patient physiology. Merely applying strategies from acquired adult cardiac disease would be inadequate and potentially misleading.

Addressing the global challenge of ensuring access to safe drinking water, especially in developing countries, demands cost-effective, eco-friendly, and readily available technologies. The persistence, toxicity, and bioaccumulation potential of organic pollutants arising from various human activities pose substantial hurdles. While high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC-HRMS) is a widely utilized technique for identifying pollutants in water, the multitude of structures for a single elemental composition complicates structural identification.
